June 25, 2010 4:20pm Brilliant, disconcerting, and plays havoc with the perception. I at first thought the whole figure was a highly-realistic doll, then a horribly manipulated model, before I eventually twigged the ingenious compromise ... Eerie yet playful. I also love the way the figure in the central panel strays out of frame while making eye contact with the viewer, as if fantasy is becoming reality.
