As far back as I can remember I always knew I wanted to be a model. And while friends and family viewed my dream as “unrealistic” – my heart would not let it go. I would find books about modeling, ‘how to’ websites and practice facial expressions in the mirror.
When I was just out of high school I convinced my mom to let me attend John Robert Powers – school of acting and modeling, but unfortunately it did not sky rocket my career as I’d hope.
This year, I saved enough money to hire a professional photographer, makeup artist and stylist to get a portfolio together. My dream is not for fame and fortune, although it is always a plus, I just want my enthusiasm and emotion to come together and find purpose in art. When I’m in front of a camera it feels like center stage with a large audience.
I not only enjoy modeling, I have a passion for it. How many people can say they have a passion for anything?
As far as style goes, I have some experience with Lifestyle, Lingerie, and more artistic modeling.
I joined Model Mayhem because I have heard good things about it and I follow on facebook and thoroughly enjoy the “Pic of the day” feature – and I decided I had nothing to lose by joining. I have joined numerous modeling websites that promise “attention” and castings, though nothing has come from them, I’m determined to pursue my dreams. If it was easy, everyone would be doing it.
