About MeFacebook My Page. INTRODUCTION: Prospective Clients, I am available for photo assignments internationally. I have shot for magazines, calendars, and television programs. Models, I'm always looking for marketable faces to pitch spec shoots to Photo Editors, Art Buyers and Creative Directors through an image syndication agency. A professional photographer since 1990, I fell in love with the medium after being seduced by the likes of Cindy Crawford, Claudia Schiffer and Elle Macpherson, those goddesses appearing in the sleek imagery of Patrick Demarchelier, Marco Glaviano and Sante D’Orazio. I wanted to create my own images of magnificently beautiful women. I’m always admiring the stylish images in fashion magazines and trying to think of my own ideas for creating something cool and memorable. Like most photographers on here, I’d love to “discover” a great new face and see her/him go on to appear in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition or walk the runway for the Victoria’s Secret fashion show. If you are reading this, maybe you are the next great face I’ll get to collaborate with. My background is in journalism and marketing. I help models by creating feature articles with interview and photo sets to create tear sheets for their portfolios, which helps them build buzz and helps them in promoting themselves in Google search results. If you are looking for a photographer to shoot you with a classic car in a ripped t-shirt, I'm not really that guy. I am more excited about fine art and fashion than the hot rod/hot babe look. I'm more interested in portraying you as a fully-realized flesh and blood human being than some idealized two-dimensional fantasy girl that a biker gang wants to pass around and grope. MY RATES: $40-$60/hr depending on the complexity of the photo shoot and negotiated terms of usage. Travel expenses must be covered and all booking must be a min of 2 hours. WHAT DO MODELS SAY ABOUT ME? SERVICE AREA: I am available to travel to nearby cities (Atlanta, Birmingham, Huntsville, Nashville, Pensacola) with some notice and travel expenses. If you would like for me to travel to where you live for a session, I am happy to work out pre-paid arrangements with you. If you have friends that would like sessions also – boudoir, portrait, whatever – you are welcome to coordinate with them and split the cost of my airfare/mileage and hotel. It can be done affordably. CASTINGS: I have a number of projects that I am working on. TESTING & TF POLICY: Bottom Line: I do NOT pay models for portfolio/general shooting. It is simply too expensive to buy and maintain my equipment, plus shooting with you means time away from my family and wear on my car and camera gear. I also have 20+ years of experience, so I really have enough samples to show off what I am capable of doing. That said, I occasionally do trade work with models who have loads of personality, specific concepts in mind and a fearless, fun attitude. If you have a willingness to pay for a MakeUp Artist, I may have a greater willingness to invest my time in shooting with you at a reduced or free rate, depending on my mood and how nicely you ask. Thanks for understanding. My rates for Model Portfolio Development are very reasonable. My images can get you noticed and get you other shoots, so a photo shoot with me is an investment. I do, on occasion, hire models for paid shoots. Usually, if I get to select the models, I will try to use people I have either tested with in the past or those who have paid to shoot with me for portfolio development who I consider to be reliable and have a marketable look that is suitable for the gig. I don't recommend a model to others unless I am reasonably sure she isn't a flake. I recently moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee and would like to find a "Muse" to shoot with regularly. Ideal would be someone who needs regular content for a website. I am not opposed to having a male model muse, although most of my ideas for shoots are optimized for female models. I just want to be shooting with fresh faces as much as possible. Much of my photography as of late has been inanimate objects (furniture, food, etc.), but shooting with people is what excites me as a photographer. If you are interested in becoming my Muse, say so. Maybe we will click on a creative level. POLICY: I believe in mutual respect and professionalism. I generally feel that whatever makes the model feel more comfortable and confident is fine. That extends to bringing someone to your photo shoot with you. I would encourage you to be extremely selective in who you bring along with you to a photo shoot, i.e., a female who will be attentive to details rather than a bored or jealous boyfriend who will bring bad vibes or touch my gear. Definitely limit it to one or two people. Leave the kids and the entourage at home. Yes, I have had a model show up with a whole gang of rowdy people before. It's quite a distraction and a sure way to get me to end a photo shoot as quickly as possible! Working out details ahead of time (what precisely is going to be photographed and who will be on the set) makes for a smoother shooting experience and guarantees no surprises. This is a rare opportunity for you to discover what you love about who you are and find out where your comfort zone is as well as far you will happily push it. On the shoot, I encourage my model to go as far as she is comfortable with, but I am careful to respect each individual’s boundaries. I really prefer that we talk about details before the shoot rather than throwing surprises at each other. I love spontaneous creative bursts, but I hate being ambushed or awkward moments. I want you to have a great experience with me and recommend a photo shoot experience to your friends! MY SHOOTS ARE ‘LOVE YOUR BODY’ ZONES! If you have some particular body part that you or your lover like, tell me ahead of time so I can focus on emphasizing it. Whatever people compliment you about. No negativity is allowed when you shoot with me. I can perform light retouching to make you look like yourself on your best day, but I generally try to avoid major reconstruction in Photoshop that makes you look like someone else. AGE POLICY: I do not photograph anyone under the age of 18 without a parent or legal guardian on the premises! NO EXCEPTIONS! Do not ask me to photograph anyone under the age of 18 in lingerie or Maxim-style toplessness. I think you can see that I am no prude, but I strongly believe that it is not in my best interest professionally to photograph someone in a manner that is not age-appropriate. SOME THINGS TO REMEMBER: If you are one of the rare souls I test with, my Model Release is available for inspection BEFORE we shoot. Your signature is a must BEFORE I invest a single frame. Music makes for a more enjoyable and fluid shoot. Please bring any CDs you might want to listen to or your iPod. Please double check before leaving that you have everything you brought with you. I am not responsible for lost items. It is your responsibility to keep track of your things. IN CONCLUSION: Thank you for your interest. Please feel free to leave a comment and include my images in a list if they inspire you or give you ideas for your own work. And if you are interested in collaborating, I look forward to that experience! Some of my best friendships have evolved from networking with other photographers, models, MUAs, and stylists. _____ Copyright © 1990-2018 the Chattanooga Model Photographer. All Rights Reserved.
