As a sculptor of the human portrait and figure, photography and the ability to take photographs of excellent quality has always been important to me. I use these photographs as studies for future sculptures, to document the details of a current pose or to record nuances of the model's features that my mind’s eye sees as important elements to impart the model's personality in the final sculpture.

Photography is also a separate art form for me. I always look for something special I can capture during a shoot. That something special may be in the pose, the facial expression, the eyes, the gesture or just the overall elegance and beauty. This may be enhanced by the setting, lighting or with only the use of a studio backdrop. The best shots come from a synergy of art and ideas between those involved. This begins with good communication.

I also take photos of the myriad of my other interests. Some photos are candids but if I or the model has a specific idea to explore, the opportunity is open at my studio or at whatever site appears appropriate.

I have studied figure sculpture, Photoshop and digital photographic and video imaging at the Corcoran College of Art and Design. I have participated in several figure sculpture workshops at the Art League in Alexandria, Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts in Annapolis and in sculpture and photographic workshops with other artists at their studios or on location

I was in a group sculpture show at Foxley/Leach gallery in Georgetown, DC and multiple other shows in and around Annapolis and Maryland suburbs of Washington.

The sculpture that is my MM Avatar won the award "The Best 3 Dimensional
Artwork" in a juried exhibit "Image and Imagination" at
The Mitchell Gallery of St. John's College in Annapolis.
