About Me

[Updated April 2020]

Due to COVID-19 and government mandates, the impact it has had on our community has been profound. With almost no new work being created it has been difficult to stay positive and keep an upbeat outlook on what the future holds for a great many of us. With the stimulus providing some relief to such a small few creatives it almost seems an uphill battle, and it is. I for one have decided to work with more new people than usual to update portfolios in the coming months once isolation has been lifted without charge. The updating of our respective portfolios for creatives is crucial to keeping a fresh outlook on the current situation, and our mental health and well being. We've all been impacted, and in that light, we all need to set aside any differences, and possibly pompous attitudes, and work together to strengthen the creative community we are all a part of.

Portfolio updated 12/22

I consider myself to be a passionate, energetic, and creative individual with an eye for detail. Inspired by the works of Richard Avedon, Edward Weston, Irving Penn, and Gavin Bond and the way they use light and darkness to convey mood and the beauty of a portrait. I'm also very keen on Gregory Crewdsons cinematic style to his well planned and highly produced images, a style and vision I aspire to.

Residing in Southern Maryland on 14 acres of rustic goodness (woods, pasture, outbuildings, stable) I have a compelling enthusiasm and affinity for portraits and theme style shoots. Currently looking to work with other creatives of all disciplines, be it models, designers, stylists, etc. to further the craft of making photographs that are both beautiful and thought-provoking. Captivating artistic pieces with a romantic and intimate style are my passion.

"Michael was such a pleasure to work with! Such a funny, laid-back and professional guy who is dedicated to his craft. We did a dark ‘witch’ themed shoot, and the images I’ve received so far are amazing. He was very receptive to my ideas and was willing to get creative with me. I can’t wait to see everything we created, and I’ll definitely be working with him again in the future!" Read less

"Some of my very favorite photos came out of my first session with Michael. He knows exactly how to get you in your comfort zone, make the real you come out for him to capture. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend a shoot with him to anyone. He is fantastic with studio work, but knows how to use natural light and nature to create some absolutely breathtaking outdoor shots. Can’t wait for our next session!" Read less
